Genesis 1:1-2:4a v 8 “God called the space sky”

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth with the Spirit of God hovering over the waters. On the first day he said “Let there be light” He called the dark night and the light day. Then as in the pictures the rest of the earth as we know it became because God spoke. Then God looked over all He had made, and He saw that it was very good. This is the account of the creation of the heavens and the earth.
To me this is a very familiar story. I have had discussions at different times throughout my life over evolution v creation and today being Trinity Sunday what stood out for me was the picture of the trinity present on that first day. First there was God, then the Holy Spirit was hovering over the waters and God said “let there be Light” Jesus was often referred to as the light of the world. We know from other references in the bible that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit were present from the beginning, but it was only as I read this today that I saw that to be true. It gives me hope for the world to know that it also means the love of God has always been there and will be there for our children and grandchildren to connect with as I worry for a world where relationships with machines are valued over relationships with people and this wonderful world is changing more rapidly than at any other time in history due to climate change.
Prayer: Heavenly Father who was here at the beginning with your son Jesus and the Holy Spirit teach me and all those around me to love each other and the world you created. Amen
