Pray!

Psalm 116: 1-2, 12-19 “What can I offer the Lord for all He has done for me?”

I love the Lord because He hears my voice. I will pray as long as I have breath! What can I offer the Lord for all He has done for me?” I will lift up the cup of salvation, praise the Lord’s name. Keep my promises to the Lord in the presence of all his people. You have freed me from my chains. I will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving. Praise the Lord!

My working life gave me a routine, a Monday to Friday process that required I get up every morning have a shower and leave my house. Then I retired during COVID that meant I had to stay home, not go out, and who cared if I had a shower or got dressed even? I learn’t though to meet with God every morning. To read a devotional and to look at scripture and write thoughts from the Holy Spirit to share. God listened when I felt alone and isolated. He helped me remove the chains that restricted my life to working for the human needs of providing shelter and food. He showed me that I could find shelter under His wings and be fed by His word. The problems of life are still around me but I am free to enjoy the wonderful days that God has given me. Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, who hears us as we pray today, thank you for the wonderful world you created for us to enjoy. The bible where we find your wisdom and truth and the daily breath to praise your name. Amen.
