Keep on sinning?

Romans 6 1b – 11 v 2 “Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?”

Should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?” We joined Christ in baptism and in death. Now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with Him in His death, we also will be raised to life as he was. We are no longer slaves to sin. Death has no power over Christ. Christ was raised from the dead and will never die again. He lives for the glory of God. So, you should consider yourselves to be dead from the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

“And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” Romans 64b.

This week I have been more aware of my failures rather than my successes in living a life that God would be happy with. I talked too much at a meeting despite the clear message to listen more, felt unorganized and rushed at a community activity, and was terrible playing golf which was meant to be for my relaxation!! The signs are clear, I am a long way off from being what Gods wants me to be. I keep doing the wrong thing which is a sin. How can I live for the glory of God?

Let’s look at my week again. I was able to connect with a friend and meet someone new at my meeting. The rushed community activity which I thought was a week early was on the right day.  I did one amazing drive and one long putt and enjoyed a lovely walk playing golf.

The signs are there pointing us in the right direction to humbly walk with Christ to the cross, but through the cross, to a life alive to God through Christ.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for giving us your Son who shows us how to live each day for you. Forgive us for the poor decisions we make and forgetting to see the wonder of the world you have created. Open our eyes to a the signs of a life alive to you through Christ Jesus. Amen.
