Genesis 22 : 1-14v 8 God will provide the sheep for the burnt offering , my son” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.”
God asked Abraham to take his son to a special place and offer him as a sacrifice to God. The next day Abraham went about all that was needed for the journey and to make a sacrifice. As Issaac was walking with him he asked his dad where is the sheep for the sacrifice? God will provide the sheep for the burnt offering, my son” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together. Abraham continued with the routine preparations for the sacrifice and indeed strapped his son to the alter he built and raised the knife to kill him. At that moment an angel called to Abraham and said do not kill your son. Abraham looked up and saw a ram stuck in a bush and used that as the sacrifice. To this day people use the name as a proverb “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
Sometimes God puts us in situations that go against all we think we should be doing. He tells us to wait when we are ready for action, to stay calm when we are angry, we get sick when we want to be healthy. It is a reminder that God will provide for what we need when we need it not a moment too soon but at the perfect time. Just as we see in the story of Abraham and Issaac.

Abraham just went about the things he had to do to be a faithful servant. Today continue to do the things you have to do with the knowledge that God will provide.
Prayer: Holy One we sometimes get frustrated and angry and impatient with the world around us. Remind us today that you will provide all we need. Amen.
