Joyful Procession

Psalm 45 10-17 “What a joyful and enthusiastic procession as they enter the King’s palace!”

Listen to me. Take heart what I say. Forget your people and your family far away. For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your Lord. The bride, a princess, looks glorious in her golden gown. In her beautiful robes she is led to the king. What a joyful and enthusiastic procession as they enter the King’s palace!” I will bring honor to your name in every generation.

The heading at the beginning of this psalm denotes it as being a love song. Can you imagine yourself as a princess and bride in her golden gown? I remember well having had my hair and make up done professionally before my own wedding, my sisters, and my daughters. I felt beautiful and special on those days. Walked down the aisle with joy.

“For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor Him, He is your Lord.” Psalm 45 v 11

Let us also come to God with a joyful and enthusiastic procession as we come to pray and worship. Look your best on the inside by leaving your familiar worries, sadness, and hurts. God delights in you just as you are and finds you beautiful. And your family will be better for it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father as we come before you today in prayer thank you for finding each one of us beautiful. Help us to love you first and show our joy and enthusiasm for all we do in your name. Amen.
