Anger

Exodus 32: 1-14v 10 “Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you Moses, into a great nation.’

Moses was up on the mountain with God and the people were left for a long time by themselves. They asked Arron to make them a God that they could worship. He collected all the gold from rings and earrings and made a calf. He then built an alter and they worship this god who brought them out of Egypt. God saw what they were doing and became angry. Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you Moses, into a great nation.’ But Moses asked, “Why are you so angry” and God changed His mind about the terrible disaster.

God is love, God is kind, God is strong, God is powerful, and here we see God is angry. When angry He wanted to be left alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, but Moses talked to Him and He changed His mind. How often have you been angry at someone’s actions?  The more you thought about it the angrier you became. Did you come up with an action too? To get them back or take them down? Usually, it is people that are close to you who offend in this way. I can think of times I was angry at my husband, my children, my Dad, the list could go on. Luckily, I also had a Moses in my life. Good people around me who asked me why? Is it worth the destruction of your family, your marriage to do terrible things back? God is a forgiving God and instructs us to do as He does to change your mind and move on.

“So the Lord changed His mind about the terrible disaster He had threated to bring on his people.” Exodus 32 v 14
