Matthew 22: 15-22 v21 “Well then He (Jesus) said, “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.”
The Pharisees were meeting together to plot how to trap Jesus. They said, we know how honest you are, you teach truthfully about God. You are impartial and don’t play favorites. Tell us what you think about paying taxes to Rome? Whose picture is on the coin used to pay taxes? Ceasars! “Well then, He said, “give to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar, and give to God what belongs to God.” His reply amazed them, and they went away.
What struck me about this reading today was the fact that the Pharisees knew that Jesus was a good person. They talked about all His good qualities but still wanted to plot against Him.
However good you feel about what you are doing in your life remember to give God the glory He deserves. Praise Him and thank him for the wonderful things in your life today! Those plotting against you will go away!
Prayer: Hoy God thank you for guiding us every day, providing for us all we need from encouragement to food and shelter. Help us to see in others their good qualities and praise you. Amen.
