Psalm 99 v 4 “Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel. “
The Lord is King! Let the whole earth quake. Let them praise your great and glorious name. Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel. “Bow low before His feet for He is holy. They cried to the Lord for help, and He answered them. You were a forgiving God to them, but you punished them when they went wrong. Exalt and worship God, for the Lord God is holy.”
I have had a few busy weeks, and I forgot the Lord is King. I forgot that my day will not go so well if I push Him to the side. That however good the tasks are that I complete, without Him helping I will grow tired. Although He forgives me, He also makes me stop, and adjust my thinking before I am able to move forward. Our God is a lover of justice and despite the overwhelming injustices we see around us, He is King. I need to bow my head and stop to praise Him, for the Lord God is holy. How about you?
Prayer: Holy God, Almighty King, in whom we trust to do good in the world forgive us if we take on too much alone. Thank you for the reminder today through the words in this psalm that you are Holy and worthy of praise, always. Amen.
