Ties of love

2 Corinthians 1-7 v 2 “I want them to be encouraged and knit together in strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.”

Paul is talking of his agonizing over the Church at Laodicea. “I want them to be encouraged and knit together in strong ties of love. I want them to have complete confidence that they understand God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself.” Others might have great arguments against Christ but “My heart is with you. I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong. Let your roots grow down into Him, then your faith will grow strong, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

“In Him ( Christ) lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

My nanna taught me how to knit, to love those with imperfections, my grandfather had polio as a young boy and always walked with crutches or a cane. She encouraged me as a woman to vote as she had lived during a time when she was not able to, and women had sacrificed their good name and even their lives for the ability for women to vote. And then there is Christ. Who encourages us all to be knit together in love. Because of my nanna, something I can relate to. God who is mysterious but also wants an intimate relationship with us through His Son Jesus Christ gives us the things we need to understand Him and to grow.  And the result, you will overflow with thankfulness.

Prayer: Almighty God thank you for those around us who help us to grow deep roots. Thank you for your Son who showed us the importance of living in loving relationship with others and the world around us. Amen.
