Psalm 107: 1-7,33-37 v 36-37 “He brings the hungry to settle there and to build their cities. They sow their fields, plant their vineyards, and harvest their bumper crops.”
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good! starts this psalm and after reading about experiments on starving indigenous children in the early 1950’s to discover what was required for an ideal diet , experiments that became the basis for the Canada Food Guide I needed reinforcement that something in this world was good. Scientists, governments, and religious groups who ran residential schools were not good. But there is hope in God. He can take those same lands that are dry and desert-like and feed the hungry.

Today my faith in God is what is holding me together. That deep in all of us is the need for a creator and when we acknowledge that good things will happen. So take time today to walk outside and take a deep breath and be thankful for the one who created it all.
Prayer: Heavenly Father I am sorry for the things that people have done to other people even those who respected your guidance. Help me to hold onto the faith I have in Jesus who showed us the way to community in through loving relationship with you and our neighbors. Amen.
