Psalm 123 v 1 “I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven.”
“I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven. We keep looking to the lord, as servants and slaves look for signals from their master and mistress. We have had more then enough of the scoffing of the proud, and the contempt of the arrogant.”
This short psalm, a song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem, which is an uphill walk, tells us first to lift our eyes up to God in heaven. A great way to start the day. Then to keep looking for the Lord, for the slightest signal that He is with you. Maybe it’s all the green traffic lights that occur when you are in a hurry to get somewhere, the animals or birds you see on your journey, or a smile from someone who passes you in the street. All signs of a God who wants the best for you and to give you the right attitude for your day and for what lies ahead up the road that you travel before you reach a place where you can praise Him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father we look up to you and for you throughout our day. Open our eyes to your presence and mercy in all we do. Amen.
