Jesus Judge

Matthew 25: 31-46 v 33 “He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at His left.”

When the son of Man comes angels will be with Him. All the nations will be gathered in His presence and be divided into sheep and goats. He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at His left.” To those on His right He will say “Come those who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.” For you fed me when I was hungry, gave me drink, invited me into your home, gave me clothing, cared for me when I was sick, and visited me in prison. When Lord? And the King will say “When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me! Those on the left had the same question. When did we not help you? And He will answer “When you refused to help the least of these.”

I started giving more to different organizations when I realized I would get a tax receipt and it would help during my annual tax return. Especially after someone said to me “I would rather choose those I help with my tax dollars than let the Government have more of my money! “A logical sensible approach. I have also been reluctant to give when someone comes to the door, or I see people on the street. Gradually God has changed my heart because that is what Jesus is looking for here. A loving response to the needs that you meet along your life’s journey. To help those who are the least in the eyes of the world, but not God. To God everyone is important.

Oh, I still have logical reasonings as to which charities I support, how I spend my time helping. I try to help using the gifts I have been given and the experiences I have. Jesus will literally put people in my path if I need to rethink what I am doing and opens doors when I am on the right track. And I am trying to leave Jesus to be the judge of others. It’s a worry I need to let go of and to not distract me from my purpose.

“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. ” Matthew 25 v 35

Prayer: Heavenly Father open our eyes and our hearts to those who need our help this Advent. We thank you for giving us Jesus, our judge , and we ask Him for direction and a generous heart. Amen.
