2Samuel 7:1-11,16 v “11b “And I will give you rest from all your enemies.”
King David was settled in a palace. He wanted to give God a fitting home too. The Lord had other plans! He said He would still be with David and make him famous in the world. God wanted to keep the Israelites secure in their own land. And I will give you rest from all your enemies.” Your house and your throne will be secure forever!
The preparations are complete, maybe the party is about to begin, or you are cleaning up after one and settling in for a quiet day at home. God wanted that for David too. He had followed God’s plan and was now settled in his own house, God approved Davids need for a rest. And God even gave David the promise that ‘your house and your throne will be secure forever.”

2 Samuel 7 v 5
Remember that God wants you to be happy, united, sharing together so enjoy the party you are preparing for, and then the rest after. It is what God wants for you, all His people. Rest from your enemies. Forever!
Prayer: In the quiet after the storm, in the lull after the holiday planning, we thank you Lord for all you have done for us this year. Guide us into a place of peace as we welcome friends, family, and baby Jesus into our homes with love and joy. Hoping to be with you forever! Amen.
