1 Corinthians 6:12 – 20 v 12 “You say I am allowed to do anything”- but not everything is good for you.”
You say I am allowed to do anything”- but not everything is good for you.” Í must not become a slave to anything. But you can’t say our bodies were made for sexual immorality. They were made for the Lord, and the Lord cares about our bodies. The person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? So, you must honor God with your body.

1 Corinthians 6 v 13b
I don’t get it, why boys want to be girls and why girls want to be boys, but that is not to say that it is not good. One of the basic truths of Christianity is God is good. This passage starts with the statement, you are allowed to do anything but not everything is good! We all have our struggles, about sexuality and our bodies. Let us remember that they are a temple of the Holy Spirit. As Christians we are to love first God, then our neighbor as ourselves, which puts loving ourselves and our neighbor as equal second. How we look on the outside is not important to God, who sees our hearts, but we do have the choice as to how we look and looking good means something different to everyone, just as our sexuality means something different. It might be the struggle of constantly being on a diet, of trying to exercise despite our aging bodies, of wanting to live a specific gender different to the sex we were born with. Remember that our bodies are a temple for the Holy Spirit and the things we do to them should be good.
Prayer: Heavenly Father who made us in His image, we thank you for the choices we have concerning our bodies and our sexuality. Guide us as we navigate through our lives and teach us to love the good in ourselves and others. Amen.
