Jesus with his friends James and John went to the home of Simon and Andrew. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a high fever. They told Jesus about her, and he went to her bedside, took her by the hand, and helped her sit up. The fever left her, and she prepared them a meal. That evening many sick and demon possessed people were brought to Jesus. The whole town gathered around too. So, Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and He cast out many demons. Before daybreak the next morning Jesus got up and went to an isolated place to pray. Later the others went out to find Him. Jesus said we must go to other towns too. This is why I came.
Too busy a little over stretched or sick wit a fever when Jesus is in your house, He will come to you. Offer you His hand, to physically lift you up. And your worries and health will be returned. Not just, not sick, anymore but well enough to carry on with all those jobs you have lined up for your day! Remember people are watching you as you do His work!
Did Jesus have a lie in the next morning an extra rest after a busy evening? No, He got up early and went out to pray. To talk with His Father! By himself. To find out what else He had to do. He replied, “I have to travel to other towns too to preach.”
We too must keep praying to find out what plans He has for us each day. To be ready early the next morning to listen and respond with an action. To answer the question why are we here?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for healing us so that we can continue the work you have planned for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
