2 Kings 2 : 1-12v 2“And Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Bethel”.
When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were travelling from Gilgal. And Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Bethel”. But Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you.” They went to Bethel. There a group of prophets said that you know that the Lord is going to take your master away today. Elisha replied of course I know, “But be quiet about it.” This scene was repeated at Jerico, and the Jordan river where Elijah parted the waters and they walked to the other side on dry ground. When the two prophets were on the other side of the river from the over 50 men who were following them, Elijah asked Elisha what he wanted as a last request. Elisha asked for a difficult thing, to become Elijahs successor and to have twice his spirit.

If three faithful people, other prophets tell you the same thing, then what you believe has been confirmed to be from God. If you google Elijah, who was he? The answer comes up, one of the greatest prophets, why? Because God wanted it that way. Elisha for all his own wishes inherited the role but did not stand out as much.
Faithful people chosen by God have roles that God wants of them.
It is true for us today. Our job is to be faithful to Gods word, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We all know for absolutely sure that one day our life on earth will end. But we need to stick to God’s plan. To learn from godly people and see what He has planned for us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for the wonder of your words in the bible. The renewing love shown to us through your Son and the guiding love of the Holy Spirit that is with us now and always. Amen.
