Jesus Christ

1 Peter 3:18-22 v 18 “Christ suffered for our sins, once and for all time.”

Christ suffered for our sins, once and for all time. He died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death. Was raised to life. He went and preached to the sinners in prison. The water God sent in the flood that saved Noah, is a picture of baptism. It is effective because of the resurrection of Christ.

As we live our lives today, we are influenced by our history. Things that happened thousands of years ago and our personal life experienced history. The significance to us living today after the resurrection of Jesus Christ is profound. As we take the time in this Lenten season to contemplate all the things Jesus did in the weeks before he went to the cross (see how our daily lives are affected by history) the words once and for all time stand out to me. Everyone has choices to make and then a direction in life to take. But standing up for good, for a God who is good, however many times we don’t do a good job, Christ suffered for our sins, once and for all time.

“Now Christ has gone to heaven.” 1 Peter 3 v 22a

Prayer: Heavenly Father who showed us how to be good in this world through the life of your Son Jesus Christ help us to stand up for Him in all we do. Amen.
