Healing

Numbers 21:4-9 v 9 “So Moses made a snake out of bronze and attached it to a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed!”

The people set out for the Red Sea, but they grew impatient with the long journey. They complained saying there was nothing to eat and drink and we hate the manna! So, the Lord sent poisonous snakes, and many were bitten and died. The people then asked Moses to pray to God to take the snakes away. Moses prayed. God replied. So, Moses made a snake out of bronze and attached it to a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed!”

“So Moses prayed for the people.” Number 21 v 7c

As we share stories from the bible, I hope you like me you are learning more and more about God. He gives us instructions and rewards us when we follow them. He also punishes those who go against Him. Many were bitten by poisonous snakes and died. It is interesting for me to see God’s solution after the people repented or said they were sorry. The snakes remained but if bitten people could look up and be healed. Sometimes the things that cause us harm are not taken away, but we are given a way to not let them affect us anymore. Try praying for those who annoy you. Loved ones who abuse you emotionally. And giving out more smiles than frowns. God gives us what we need even if the snakes are still around us.

Prayer: Holy God, we thank you for giving us the tools we need to heal. Protect us from the snakes around us as we journey with you each day. Amen.
