Hebrews 5:5-10 v 7 “Whilst Jesus was here an earth, He offered prayers and pleadings, wit a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue Him from death. And God heard His prayers because of His deep reverence for God. “
Christ did not honor Himself by assuming He could become High Priest. No, He was chosen by God. Whilst Jesus was here an earth, He offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue Him from death. And God heard His prayers because of His deep reverence for God. Even though Jesus was God’s son He learned obedience from the things He suffered. He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him.

Watching my grandchildren grow and seeing other families out in the community however loving a parent tries to be, there are times when a strong stance is needed. When despite the tears and the loud pleadings the child must obey, and put their coat on or end the play date or leave the park or go to bed. As adults we must get up and go to work if we want a paycheck, save some of our money if we want to go on a vacation, and give money away if we want a tax break. We are changed people depending on the rules we obey. And Jesus was no exception. He was changed by the rules He had to follow and so are we if we follow Him. God hears our prayers and answer them according to His will as we show our deep reverence for God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for hearing our prayers and teaching us through suffering to be the best we can be in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
