John 12: 20-33 v 25 “Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their live in this world will keep it for eternity.”
Some Greeks had come to Jerusalem and went to visit Phillip. They wanted to meet Jesus. Phillip told Andrew and they went together to ask Jesus. Jesus replied “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels- a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their live in this world will keep it for eternity. Should I pray, Father, save me from this hour? But this is the very reason I came! Then a voice spoke from heaven. “I have already brought glory to my name, and I will do so again.” The voice was for you not me. The time has come when Satan the ruler of this world, will be cast out. And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.”
If the Greeks were a part of the crowd they heard some amazing things, was it thunder or an angel talking to Jesus? We don’t know if they had the personal interview with Jesus that they requested. However, we see a conversation with great meaning for us between Jesus and the Apostles who went to find Him. But that is life when you try and follow Jesus. You go to him with one thing and sometimes come away with another! I am out of the box, not attending a denominational Church but I am trying to gather in person with other Christians as that is important for us to do. I have several things on my checklist I want and am finding it difficult to find all of them in one place. However, I found myself looking at Jesus who associated with all sorts of different people. Greeks in Jerusalem! And asking myself the question how do we live in a diverse society if we only associate with those who believe as we do? If I only want to live life and love those, I am comfortable with, will I lose it? Do I have to love those in uncomfortable situations to gain eternal life?

I am following Jesus to different places. I will let you know what happens!
Prayer: Almighty God who has a plan for us all please help me to understand this world in which I live to serve you better. Amen.
