He is Lord!

Philippians 2: 5-11v 10 “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.”

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. He did not cling to equality with God. He gave up his divine privileges, he took the humble position of a slave. Died a criminal’s death on a cross. God gave Him the name above all names. that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. And every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.

I was part of a bible study for lent maybe 5 or 6 years ago now, following Jesus in the last week of His ministry on earth. He knew he was going to die but, in that week, he cleared out the temple of thieves, had a meal with his close friends, prophesied about things that were going to happen, talked about a future when he was gone, a better future for everyone, and washed his disciples’ feet, and went out alone to pray to God, the Father.  And we must have the same attitude as Christ.

We might not do all these things before we too die but our lives are different if we live with the same attitude as Christ. Humbly looking after all those in our care, giving up privileges that are our right to serve others. To take time to pray quietly by ourselves. Try today to have the same attitude as Jesus, to declare that He is Lord!
