1 John: 1:1 – 2:2 v 10 “If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing his word has no place in our hearts.”
We saw Him with our own eyes and touched Him with our own hands. He is the word of life. We proclaim He is the one who is eternal life. Our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing these things to share the joy. God is light and there is no darkness in Him at all. God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing his word has no place in our hearts. Do not sin. But if anyone does, they have an advocate who pleads our case before the father. He is Jesus Christ. He atones for our sins and the sins of the world.

On Monday of this week, I had the privilege of experiencing a natural phenomenon, a solar eclipse. Seeing it and feeling it firsthand was an amazing experience and I did it in my own back yard! I can therefore imagine the life changing experience of meeting the resurrected Jesus. The joy of it to be shared. Just like we shared the experience of the solar eclipse with family and friends, something so amazing you had to tell others about it.
This experience also aligns with the true nature of man, that we are sinners. When the sun was mostly hidden from us it was cold, there was an earie darkness very briefly, for only a few minutes. We are sinners, we do bad things, however briefly we show this side to others. We need the light to be warm and loving. And we need an advocate, Jesus Christ, to plead our case with the Father.
Prayer: Heavenly father who showed us this week by the remarkable solar eclipse the wonder of your world, and our need for light, that is Jesus Christ. We are sorry for the paths that we take that do not align with the love you have for all of mankind. Allow your Son Jesus Christ to lead us into the light. Amen.
