I have all that I need!

Psalm 23 v “He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.”

I have all that I need. Rest beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.  My cup overflows with blessings. I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

The wonder of God’s words in the bible is found in this for me familiar psalm. Every time I read it, I see and hear something different, yet the same. Our great God gives us all we need. Rest and strength. Protection and comfort. Blessings and unfailing love for all of my life and the ultimate final resting place “to live in the house of the Lord forever!”

Does that mean my life is perfect? Do I go through my days without a worry, with only love for all those around me? No, I get angry with my husband, frustrated with traffic, and complain about the Church, all in one morning! But more and more I tell myself that God loves me all the time. That it is OK to enjoy the blessings of family when they are around and the peace and quiet when they go home. That in the constant change of the world around us, I have all that I need in relationship with a loving God.

Prayer: Loving God who makes sure we have all we need, your strength, an example of love in Jesus, and the nudging of the Holy Spirit. Thank you. Amen.
