We know what real love is because Jesus gave up His life for us. If you have money but show no compassion for a brother or sister in need- how can God’s love be in that person? Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show it by our actions. Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and He knows everything. We can come to God with bold confidence, receive whatever we ask, because we obey Him and do the things that please Him. And we know He lives in us because the Spirit, he gave us lives in us.
Written thousands of years ago in a different time and in a different place, these words have a meaning for us today. Practical thoughts about Christs love for us, he gave up His life! If we have money, compassion will help those in need. Even if we give for ulterior motives, God knows and is greater than our feelings. We should have bold confidence in God if we do the things that please Him! And then there is that deep voice inside of us, the Holy Spirit who helps me with these words and gives me peace!
Love is best shown by actions!
Prayer: Heavenly Father who loves us and asks that we love others in return help us to see where you are working today and by our actions show your love to the world. Amen.
