An Angel of the Lord said to him “Go south, down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza.” So, he started out and met the treasurer of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority. He was reading allowed from the book of the prophet Isaiah. The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “go over and walk beside the carriage.” He asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” He urged Philip to come into the carriage and explain it to him. When they passed by some water, he asked to be baptized. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Phillip away. The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing.
Did Philip know he was talking to an Angel when he was told to go down the road towards Gaza? When he heard a voice in his head that it was the Holy Spirit? An extraordinary thing happened. He met an influential person and through talking to him made him a convert of Jesus. The man went away rejoicing and Philip found himself farther north at the town of Azotos. They never saw each other again.
Being a follower of Jesus can lead to amazing things if you listen to Angels and the guiding of the Holy Spirit. Be open today to the advice of an Angel and the Holy Spirit.
