Grapevine

John 15:1-8 v 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts those who don’t bear fruit and prunes those that do. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. You cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything that you want. When you produce fruit, it brings glory to the Father.

My children and grandchildren were admiring the lovely red tulips that grow in my garden. Planted by the previous owner of the house, I was explaining how they had multiplied because I cut off the flowers once the leaves of the flowers started to fall and that enabled the bulb to grow and produce more flowers the next year. In my own back yard was a similar analogy to Christ the bulb, God the gardener, and the resultant effect of multiplying.

“For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.” John 15 v 4b

Now I just have too remember to give God the credit for this wonderful world He created!

Prayer: Heavenly Father who created this wonderful world in which we live we thank you for the opportunity to share it with others. Open their hearts to your love though the work we do every day. Amen.
