1 John 5: 1-6 v 4 “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.”
Everyone who believes Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. We love His children, obey His commands, which are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. Jesus Christ was revealed by His baptism and by shedding His blood on the cross. By water and blood, confirmed by the Spirit’s truthful testimony.
As a child we so want to grow up, but here we see God describing believers as a child. We know from raising children that they require boundaries to be productive in this world so after being told we are children, God sets boundaries for us in the Old Testament the 10 commandments (Exodus 20 v 1-17) and Jesus in Matthew 22: v 34-39 talked of the most important commandment to love God and then your neighbor. Simple then to defeat the evil in us, in the world through our faith, to be like a child and to obey His commands. Jesus did the work with water and blood, and the Holy Spirit reveals the truth to us. Start a new journey with God today, show this evil world His love, like a child.
Prayer: Heavenly father we thank you for loving us and giving us boundaries. Help us to defeat the evil in this world by choosing love like a child. Amen.
