Keep Calm and Carry on!

1 Samuel 3: 1-10 v 10 “And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel, Samuel!” And Samuel replied” Speak, your servant is listening.”

Now in those days messages from the Lord were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon. One night Eli had gone to bed and Samuel was sleeping in another area of the Temple and he heard someone calling his name. Assuming it was Eli he went over to where he was sleeping and asked what he wanted. Eli did not call him and sent him back to his bed. This happened three times until Eli realized it was the Lord calling Samuel. And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuell, Samuell!” And Samuel replied” Speak, your servant is listening.”

Eli and Samuel followed their everyday routines. Samuel had not heard from God before. He didn’t know what was happening. He required the wisdom of Eli to help him out. When he knew what to do, he responded appropriately to Gods call.

“Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a message from the Lord before.” 1 Samuel 3 v 7

I have been writing these blogs post for a while now. This past week I came to a note in my book. End of another year what to do now? Two wise women helped me by saying they used something in my blog post this week. They were not talking directly to me, but I believe God was speaking, what you write is valuable to others. Also when you do what is right by God you feel joy which is what I feel when I write. Humbly as you go about your everyday God will show you the way. Keep calm and carry on!

Prayer: Almighty God open our ears to hear you speaking this week as we look for ways to work for you in all that we do. Amen.
