Mark 2: 23 – 26 v 24 “But the Pharisees said to Jesus,” Look why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath?”
One Sabbath day Jesus’s disciples started to eat grain as they waked through a field. But the Pharisees said to Jesus,” Look why are they breaking the law by harvesting grain on the sabbath? Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you read the scripture when David ate the bread from the most holy place and gave it to his companions?

Jesus is always teaching. He always had to be on guard from others trying to undermine what he was doing. He is patient and persistent. He wants us to think for ourselves, put all the pieces of the puzzle that is following Him together. What trials are you facing today? Who is asking questions of you? How do you respond? Following Jesus even on the Sabbath a traditional day of rest requires adjusting your priorities for what is important as you walk with Jesus through a grainfield.
Prayer: Heavenly Father who walks with us in all we do, thank you for the example of Jesus. Give us strength for the daily work you want us to do, whatever day of the week. Amen.
