True Family

Mark 3: 20-35 v 35 “Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

One time Jesus was in a house that was so crowed with people he was unable to eat. His family were concerned, saying he is out of his mind and tried to take him away. However, Jesus turned the moment into a teachable one. As the teachers of the religious law exaggerated the families concerns saying that Jesus was possessed by Satan Jesus responded “How can Satan cast out Satan? If Satan is divided and fights against himself, how can he stand? He would never survive. Then Jesus family came to see Him and sent word that they were waiting outside. He replied Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.

“The he looked at those around Him and said, “Look these are my mother, and brothers.” Mark 3 v 34

Life for me continues to be busy with conflicting activities requiring me to have to choose what to do. Jesus was really busy this day. Teaching to a large crowd, having no time to eat. He didn’t like me complain to those around. Instead, he stated that they were His true family. Maybe it’s time to relax, to realize that there is time to complete the important things in life with those around you who are also trying to do God’s will.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for teaching us and demonstrating how best to be in this world. Help us to follow your example and love all those who do your will. Amen.
