Merely Human

Psalm 9;9-20 v 16 “The Lord is known for His justice. The wicked are trapped by their own deeds.”

The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Do not abandon those who search for you. Tell the world about His unforgettable deeds. Save me so that I can praise you publicly at Jerusalem’s gates, so that I can rejoice that you have rescued me. The Lord is known for His justice. The wicked are trapped by their own deeds. Arise O Lord. Let the nations know they are merely human.

This psalm written thousands of years ago repeats the themes that we struggle with today. The plight of the poor, wicked people thriving, good people suffering, and thus we cry out to the Lord. The God we praise in the private of our own homes and the secure walls of our churches is known for His justice. Higgaion Selah, in Hebrew translated as quiet interlude but the meaning is uncertain. How about take a break for a moment?

“But the needy will not be ignored forever; the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.” Psalm 9 v 18

The Lord is known for His justice. We are merely human. Praise God for rescuing you today.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for being bigger than our troubles, helping us when we falter and loving us. Teach us today to share your love with others. Amen.
