Counting on the Lord!

Psalm 130 v 5 “I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on Him. I have put my hope in His word.

From the depths of despair, I call for your help. Pay attention to my prayer. Lord, if you kept a record of our sins who could survive? But you offer forgiveness. I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on Him. I have put my hope in His word. I long for the Lord. With the Lord is unfailing love. He Himself will redeem Israel.

Even as we grow older and should know better, we end up realizing we have screwed up, and call on the Lord for help. We need Him to pay attention to our prayers as we cannot do it alone. We need to ask for forgiveness again. Because even with God we mess up. But as we mature as Christians we count on God, trust His word, long for Him and His unfailing love. Realize He is in charge and will redeem the world. In our lives today we can relate to the words in psalm 130.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for your unfailing love and ask for your forgiveness from the despair we feel today. Send the Holy Spirit to guide us to do what you want us to do to redeem the world. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
