Psalm 48 v 13 “Take note of all the fortified walls and tour all the citadels, that you may describe them to future generations.” How great is the Lord, how deserving of praise, in the city of our God. God himself is in Jerusalem’s towers, revealing Himself as its defender. The Kings of the earth joined forces and advanced against the city, you destroyed them. We have heard of the cities glory, but nownow we have seen it ourselves. O God we meditate on your unfailing love as we worship in your temple. Go, inspect the city of Jerusalem. Take note of all the fortified walls and tour all the citadels. He is our God forever and ever and will guide us until the day we die.
This song or psalm was written by descendants of Korah, who turned against God and led 250 men to their death because of it. Seven generations later we find amazing insights about the love of God, that in time has changed the inheritance of a group of people from traitor to worshiper. They encourage us to look outside our communities and explore the wonders of God’s world. To see for ourselves and describe it to others.
