Guilt!

Psalm 51 1-12 v 2 Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.”

Have mercy on me because of your unfailing love, great compassion. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. Against you and you alone have I sinned, but you desire honesty. Give me back my joy again, let me rejoice. Create in me a clean heart. Don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore my joy make me willing to obey.

We all do things we regret. Words and actions we are not proud of and when we think of the Lord our God watching us, we realize we sin against Him. It takes away our joy. However, we have a God who can wash us clean from our sins. Who can restore our joy if we obey. Today ask God to wash away the guilt and live in the new joy!

Prayer: Heavenly Father we are so sorry for all the things we have said and done that you do not approve of. We long to love in the joy and be guided by the Holy Spirit instead of the guilt we feel. Cleanse us of our sins today so that we can live with a clean heart and rejoice!
