What Joy!

Psalm 84 v5 “What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.”

How lovely is your dwelling place, I long to enter the courts of the Lord. My whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God. The sparrow finds a home, the swallow a nest. What joy for those who can live in your house. What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. O Lord hear my prayer. The Lord God is our sun and our shield. What joy for those who trust in you.

When I am part of a service full of all sorts of people singing to God, what joy. When I realize that my body needs some attention and give it with Gods help, what joy. When my children find their life partners and what joy of being a grandparent. As I travel to different parts of the world, to the park, to the home of a friend, to school, to far away places, what joy. O Lord I am thankful for your guidance and love, my strength and my protector. I trust that following you makes me the best person I can be. What joy.

You too can take the sentences from this psalm and give them back to God as I did above with personal insights into how God has brought joy into your life. Spend a few minutes reflecting on:- what joy, and have a joyful day!

“What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises.” Psalm 84 v 4

Prayer: Heavenly Father open our eyes to your joy that is all around us as we trust in you. Amen.
