Psalm 19 v 7 “The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.”
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bring joy, and are clear. Reverence for the Lord is pure and last forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Often, we make life too complicated. We worry about our family, what we haven’t got, what we need for the next day, the next month, the next year. We are concerned for the planet, the problems caused by global warming, the wars in other countries, food insecurity, poor housing. Then we look up to the sky, at night and see all the stars. During the day the wonderful blue, the clouds, the flowers, the trees and see that the heavens proclaim a simple truth, the glory of the Lord. Without speaking we see order and the laws of gravity as rain comes down and feel revived. Flowers grow bloom and are gone, so our life has a beginning a middle and an end and the closer we follow Gods path the deeper joy we find in our lives. The more clearly we see the way forward, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the wonders of nature that make us say “wow”. The simple truth we see as we watch the world around us. The clear path we hear as we follow your commandments. O Lord my rock and my redeemer. Amen.
