Psalm 26 v 6-7 “ I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of your wonders.”
Declare me innocent, O Lord for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. For I am always aware of your unfailing love, I have lived according to your truth. I refuse to join in with the wicked. I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of your wonders. Don’t let me suffer the fate of sinners. Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the Lord.
David who wrote this psalm was a mighty and good king most of the time, but he was not without his personal problems and sometimes misused his power as king. In this psalm as often happens in the bible we see timeless truths. That it is important to associate with good people. To talk of God’s wonders and to feel the solid ground of our faith that allows us to publicly praise the Lord.
My story is about finding the solid ground of my faith, wherever I am. About holding onto good when you are down, about working hard to survive, and to succeed. No big miracles but everyday little ones from the warmth of the sun, the hug of a friend, the joy found in a church service, and finding my life’s direction through reading the bible. God is loving, faithful and kind and shows up when you ask Him too. Our job is to seek, to knock and to find.

Prayer: Heavenly Father who is all around us in all we do we thank you for the good that we see in nature, to feel in our hearts, and to enjoy with those you give to help us. We thank you for the wonder of the changes that are possible as we trust in you. Amen.
