Job 38: 1-7 v 3 “ Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.”
“Who is this that questions my wisdom?” Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.” Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? What supports it’s foundations as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” (Also see v 37 – 41 for more questions)
How often are we on the other side of this conversation? Demanding of God to listen to our prayer requests and to answer right now! How incredible was that first big bang that caused the earth to form, did you know that the stars sang, and the angels shouted for joy? What an amazing picture of that first moment of creation.
When things don’t work out the way we want them to the first person to be blamed is God. Do we really think that we have a better solution than that provided by the wisdom of God? Who is this that questions my wisdom? Brace yourself as you have no idea what might be coming!
Prayer: Heavenly Father we are sorry that sometimes we question your great wisdom. We thank you for the times in our lives when we have been privileged to hear the angels sing as you do every day. Help us to brace ourselves for the wonders to come in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
