Mark 10: 46-52 v 49 “When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said” Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!”
As Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed Him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (Son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road. He began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. “Be quiet” many of the crowd yelled at him. But he shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said” Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!” “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My Rabbi, ‘The blind man said, “I want to see!” And Jesus said to him “Go for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.
How loud is your voice when you want Jesus to hear you? If people around you tell you to be quiet, do you stop shouting or are you like Bartimaeus, do you shout louder? When you come face to face with Jesus do you call him Rabbi? Acknowledge that He is a teacher? And when you are healed do you follow him down the road? Do you question Jesus’s response to your requests if they are not immediate?

Faith is believing anyway. Rejoicing for Bartimaeus and continuing to shout louder, for Jesus’s help. Trusting in His timing and knowing that at any moment you can be instantly healed and following Him down the road when you are. Don’t shortchange yourself or Jesus, who loves us all and provides what we need for His glory.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the times we have received instant healing in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
