Once and for all time!

 Hebrews 9: 24-28 v 28a “So also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people.”

Christ did not enter a Holy place made with human hands. He entered into heaven, to appear before God on our behalf. Now, once and for all time he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by His own death as a sacrifice. Just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgement, so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again to bring salvation to all those who are eagerly waiting for Him.

The bible is made up of many different types of writing styles. It has poems, is a history book, as well as fictional stories that help us to understand our spiritual selves. Then as in this passage every word has meaning that solidifies our belief in God and who Jesus was and why He came. No need for interpretation as it is easy to understand.

As the world is beginning to prepare for Christmas, Jesus’s birth, it is timely to remember why He came. He entered heaven on our behalf. He came to remove sin by His own death as a sacrifice. Just as everyone dies then comes judgement. He will come again to all those who are eagerly waiting for Him.

Once and for all time Christ came down to earth.

Once and for all time Christ died as a sacrifice for all our sins.

Once and for all time we die and will be judged.

Once and for all time He will come again for all those eagerly waiting.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for this wonderful time of the year as we prepare to celebrate the birth of your son, Jesus who came as the one and only sacrifice needed for our sins. As we eagerly wait to be judged at death in heaven, or for Him to come again to earth, help us to humbly serve you in all we do. Amen.
