Saved, Forgiven, Light, Peace!

Luke 1:68-79 v 71 “Now we will be saved from our enemies and from all who hate us.”

Praise the Lord. He has sent us a mighty Savior, just as He promised. Now we will be saved from our enemies and from all who hate us. You (John) will tell His people how to find salvation through forgiveness of their sins. The morning light of heaven is about to break upon us, to guide us to the path of peace.

The bible today lets us now in simple terms what is needed to be a follower of Jesus, and a believer in God. God lets us know ahead of time when bad things and good things are about to happen. John the Baptists’ father makes this prophecy about his son John, who will prepare the way, and teaches us to own up to our sins. To be ready for the “morning light from heaven,” Jesus, who will guide us to the path of peace.

Through our advent worship we are lighting candles as a symbol of the promises of God to his people. Light a candle today, say sorry for the things you have done that don’t represent a loving God ,  and know that you are forgiven, enjoy the wonderful light and a moment of peace.

“Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light is about to break upon us.”
Luke 2 v 78

Prayer: Heavenly Father who knows what we need and shapes us to be more like Jesus every day, we thank you for His light and peace in all we do. Amen.
