The Shepherds call!

Luke 2: 1-14 v 13 “Suddenly the angel was joined by a vast host of others- the armies of heaven- praising God .”

At that time the Roman emperor decreed a census. All returned to their own ancestral home. Joseph had to go to Bethlehem. He took with him his engaged wife Mary who was expecting a child. She gave birth to her newborn son she wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth. To shepherds in fields nearby, an angel appeared, and the radiance of God’s glory surrounded them. “Don’t be afraid, I bring you good news.” The messaiah has been born. You will recognize Him by this sign: you will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger. Suddenly the angel was joined by a vast host of others- the armies of heaven- praising God.

But the angel reassured them “Don’t be afraid, I bring you good news.” Luke 2 v 10

The experience of COVID showed us all that when the government tells you to do something you do it!  Joseph was called to Bethlehem, we were called to stay home, many schools and workplaces were closed, suddenly life changed. The shepherds, however, were called with a divine mission, to see the baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth.  An angel appeared and then a vast host of others! They went immediately and praised God! We too need to take time like the shepherds to answer God’s call and praise Him!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the wonders that were performed to show us the signs to follow you. Amen.
