Restoration

Jerimiah 31: 7-14 v 9a “Tears of joy will stream down their faces, and I will lead them home with great care.”

Sing with joy for Israel. Save your people, O Lord. I will bring them from the north and from the distant corners of the earth. A great company will return! Tears of joy will stream down their faces, and I will lead them home with great care. Listen to this message from the Lord!  The Lord who scattered His people will gather them and watch over them as a shepherd does His flock. They will come home and sing songs of joy. I will turn their mourning into joy. I, the Lord, have spoken.

Life has its ups and downs all the time. I am sitting with my leg bandaged as I strained my knee sledding with my grandchildren. But I had tears of joy during the Christmas season as I watched those same grandchildren dance with joy at the Christmas Eve service. The world is in a mess now, but to God it is only a moment. He will put things right, we just need to continue to trust Him and believe in restoration as He leads us home.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we often are worried about the world and how we can make things right. Please help us to trust you that all will be better as we believe in you and your ability to turn our mourning into joy. Amen.
