Jeremiah 17: 5-10 v 10 “But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”
This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They live in the barren wilderness. Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, with roots that reach deep into the water. They never stop producing fruit. The human heart is the most deceitful of all things. But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”
When learning about the history and the writing of the bible as humans the Old Testament is divided into major and minor prophets. There are three major prophets of which Jeremiah is one and twelve minor prophets due solely on the length of each book, not on the significance of the message. However, the words major and minor give a different meaning when maybe long and short would be simpler. Wherever we are in our faith journey, learning for a long time or short, having done major or minor things for the Lord. It is the attitude of our hearts that is important to God, and thus the rewards that we receive. The more I learn about the complexities of our human lives, the simpler my faith becomes. Do good with a thankful heart and you will be rewarded.

Prayer: Almighty God who sees into our hearts and understands all that we do, we thank you for keeping our hearts on the right track. For the deep roots that grow and the fruit that we produce in your name. Amen.
