Which Path?

Ps 1 v 6 “For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Oh, the joys of those who do not join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. Sinners will have no place among the godly. For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

Every day we make choices to follow the advice from the weather channel not to go out in a snowstorm, or to go shopping anyway. To invite family over or stay comfortably at home. To help those in need or help those who have plenty. The Old Testament is clear, do not join in with the wicked, sinners or mockers. Jesus however had a different plan. Keeping to ourselves is easy, associating with “good” people as well. Jesus calls us to love our enemies to help widows, those in prison and the poor. Both these philosophies on closer understanding are the same. We get to choose our path. To delight in God’s law whether we are with “good” people or “wicked” we need to be patient, understanding and kind.  Choose God’s path today and prosper.

” But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.” Psalm 1 v 2

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for all those we encounter each day. Help us to always have your attitude of love as we interact on our chosen path. Amen.
