Psalm 99 v 5 “Exalt the Lord our God! Bow low before His feet, for He is holy!”
The Lord is King! Let the nations tremble! Let them praise your great and awesome name. Your name is Holy! Exalt the Lord our God! Bow low before His feet, for He is holy! He spoke to Israel from the pillar of cloud, and they followed the laws and decrees He gave them. Exalt the Lord our god, and worship at His holy mountain in Jerusalem, for the Lord our God is holy!
Today is Shrove Tuesday or pancake day! A Christian ritual symbolizing the day before the start of lent. Lent is a period of forty days when traditionally you decide to give up something. So today is a time to eat all those treats you are giving up. A time to decide how you will honor God, for He is holy over the next forty days. Doing something on the outside, to show what your heart is like on the inside.
Prayer: Holy God, we praise you today for all the wonderful things in our lives. Help us over the next forty days to remove something in our lives in your name to honor you. Amen.
