Prophesy

 Genesis 15: 1-18 v 4 “Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.”

The Lord said in a vision to Abram,” I will protect you and your reward will be great.” Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” Then the Lord took Abram outside and said,” Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!”  Then the Lord said to Abram, you can be sure your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, slaves for 400 years. But I will punish the nation that enslaves them, and they will leave with great wealth. (As for you, you will die in peace and be buried at a ripe old age.) after four generations your descendants will return here to this land.

In the Old Testament certain people had a direct connection with God. They heard from Him things that would happen in the future and believed. They asked for advice on certain things and were given concrete answers. God continues to speak to some people in this way today. That is why we need to be a part of a group of spiritual people. Some hear the words directly from God, others help support the actions He requires, we all work together. If you are struggling with a direction in your life, having difficulty discerning your path, make sure you connect with your spiritual advisors. Godly people whom you trust.  Like Abram, God will give you direction and help with your worries.

Prayer: Almighty God who is all seeing open our eyes to the direction you have for us. Direct us to people who can help us decern our path as we join you in what you are doing. Amen.
