Teach Me!

Psalm 27: 9-17 v 11 “Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me.”

Do not turn your back on me. Don’t leave me now; don’t abandon me, O God of my salvation! Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me. Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

My professional life taught me to be a lifelong learner. I was always reading journals trying to understand new information. My spiritual life has been the same. Reading the bible and commentaries to help me understand God and our lives here on earth a little better. I started with bible studies and now have a daily routine to read the bible. I have read it once intentionally from cover to cover. Still everyday I learn. Some of my enemies are within me, some in others that I meet. I have moments of confidence and moments of doubt. But like the person who wrote this psalm, I see the Lord’s goodness as he continues to teach me and lead me. I hope that you do too.

Prayer: Almighty God, thank you for teaching us more about you every day. Lead us on your path and allow us to see your goodness, to be brave and courageous, and patiently wait for you. Amen.
