Luke 13: 31-35 v 33 “Yes, today, tomorrow, and the next day I must proceed on my way. For it wouldn’t do for a prophet of God to be killed except in Jerusalem. “
Some Pharisees said” Herod Antipas wants to kill you.” Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox that I will keep on casting out demons and healing people today and tomorrow; the third day I will accomplish my purpose. Yes, today, tomorrow, and the next day I must proceed on my way. For it wouldn’t do for a prophet of God to be killed except in Jerusalem. How often I wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.
The title to this passage is Jesus grieves over Jerusalem. Although He is told that Herod wants to kill Him, he says he will continue His work until He has accomplished His purpose. He knows where He is going. He wanted to do things differently, but we wouldn’t let Him.

There are many sad things around us today. But our purpose is to worship God, spread His word and look after those less fortunate than ourselves today, tomorrow and the next day. Even if we meet resistance along the way. Jesus met it too and understands but kept going anyway, to find that lost sheep, to heal that blind man, to encourage the woman at the well to go and do better. Keep going. You can do it to, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.
Prayer: Almighty God who never gives up encourage us to keep going on our journey together to accomplish our purpose in the name of Jesus your Son. Amen.
