Exodus 3: 1-15 v 6a “I am the God of your father- the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”
Moses was tending the flock of his father-in -law, Jethro. He went far into the wilderness. There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire in the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames it didn’t burn up. He was amazed and wanted a closer look. God saw him approach and spoke to him from the middle of the bush,” I am the God of your father- the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” He said I have seen the oppression of my people; I have heard the cries of their distress. I have come down to rescue them. You must lead my people out of Egypt. I will be with you, and this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you. If the people ask say “I AM has sent me to you, Yahweh.”

Exodus 3 v 13 b
We all have a story of where we come from. God’s story is that He has been around since the beginning and will be forever. He has many names, here there are two, I AM, and Yahweh. We also see that God can change the laws we know as true- a bush can be engulfed in flames but not burn. He can speak directly to us from the middle of a burning bush, the pages of the bible, other people he trusts like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and His son Jesus. He sees and hears us in times of distress and can rescue us. He asks us to remember His name: Yahweh for all generations. He wants to have a relationship with us. Why not take a few minutes to think about and maybe even write down the story of where you came from and how God has been a part of it.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Yahweh, we thank you for the wonders that you perform and that you hear us when we call and lead us to where you want us to work in your name. Amen.
